We have received reports of large numbers of phishing emails purporting to be from Paypal falsely claiming that Siber Systems has processed an automatic renewal for the recipient's non-existent RoboForm Everywhere subscription. The subject line has typically started with "You sent an automatic payment" and sometimes but not always includes an amount. Although our company's information is being used, rest assured this is a phishing scam (which we unfortunately have no control over). Below are some FAQ's.
I see a phone number on the email for Siber Systems. Should I call it?
Unless you are an existing RoboForm customer, no. We would prefer that you do not call the number on the email as it is our actual phone support line that is reserved for our paid subscribers. We are already well aware of the situation. There is nothing our phone support agents can do to directly assist you beyond generic advice on dealing with phishing emails. Furthermore, our customers sincerely appreciate not having their wait times unduly increased by unnecessary phone conversations.
Now I'm worried my PayPal account was hacked. What should I do?
The scammers are after your PayPal account information. First things first, do not click on the link from the email. You may, however, use your browser to access and review your PayPal account, verifying any and all charges as needed.
If not to you, is there any place I can report this email to?
